Track Your Way to Financial Independence
RatRaceScore is a personal finance tracker built around a single number: the ratio of your monthly passive income to your monthly expenses. Log your accounts, transactions, and net worth, and RatRaceScore turns them into a score that tells you exactly how close you are to covering your lifestyle without a paycheck.
How your RatRace Score works
RatRace Score = Total Monthly Passive Income ÷ Total Monthly Expenses. A score of 1.0 means your dividends, rental income, royalties, and other passive sources fully cover your bills — you've escaped the rat race. Every transaction and account you add sharpens the number, so the score moves as your real finances move, not as a one-off estimate.
The five levels of financial independence
- Survival (0.0–0.09) — living paycheck to paycheck, with little or no passive income yet.
- Stability (0.1–0.79) — an emergency fund and growing passive income can absorb unexpected expenses.
- Security (0.8–0.99) — passive income covers your basic living expenses.
- Freedom (1.0–1.19) — passive income covers your desired lifestyle, not just the basics.
- Abundance (1.2+) — extra resources beyond your needs, free to reinvest or leave a legacy.
Everything you need in one dashboard
Add your accounts and log transactions once, and RatRaceScore keeps the rest current automatically: your net worth, a breakdown of passive versus active income, budgets tracked against actual spending, savings goals with progress bars, and a 12-month trend of your score so you can see the direction you're heading, not just where you stand today.
Import transactions in bulk from a CSV, or add them one at a time — either way, every category rolls up into the same score, the same charts, and the same weekly summary email, so you always know where you stand without having to do the math yourself.
See where your own income and expenses put you on the scale.
