Net Worth Percentile Calculator
Enter a net worth below and see two numbers instantly: where it ranks among US households, and where it ranks among adults worldwide. Wealth is far more concentrated than income, so these two numbers can move very differently as your net worth grows.

How this is calculated
The US percentile is built from the Federal Reserve's Survey of Consumer Finances — the same dataset behind the US Net Worth by Decile and US Net Worth by Percentile charts. The world percentile is built from the UBS Global Wealth Report's wealth-tier breakdown — the same framework behind World Household Net Worth.
Between published data points, the calculator interpolates on a logarithmic scale, appropriate for a distribution this skewed — net worth spans from zero or negative up into the tens of millions, and a straight linear guess between two known points would badly misplace anyone in the middle of the range. Values outside our data are reported as "below" or "above" our range rather than as a fabricated precise decimal, and global wealth-tier boundaries are naturally coarser than the US table, so the world result is a rougher estimate by design.
Why net worth concentrates faster than income
Income is a flow — capped, roughly, by hours worked and a salary. Net worth is a stock that compounds: it grows on itself, year over year, without requiring more hours. That's why the jump from the 90th to the 99th percentile is so much steeper for wealth than for income — high earners save and invest a larger share of a larger income, and that gap widens every year it isn't corrected for.
Percentile isn't the same as your RatRace Score
A high net worth doesn't automatically mean freedom — a household with substantial equity in a home and a car, and none of it generating income, can have a lower RatRace Score than a household with a fraction of the net worth held entirely in dividend-paying assets. What Is Financial Independence? A Complete Guide covers why the ratio of passive income to expenses, not the size of your balance sheet, is what actually predicts your freedom date.
